SUFFOLK - Alberta Butler Brogdon of the 300 block of Fuller St. died Jan. 12, 2009, in Sentara Obici Hospital. She was a native of Nansemond County and the daughter of the late John Ford and Doah Butler. She was also predeceased by her brother, Mandon Butler.

She was a member of East End Baptist Church and attended Nansemond County Public Schools.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Alphin Brogdon; one daughter, Mary L. Walker (Tyrone); one son, Ciphalinda Brogdon; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and a host of loving uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in East End Baptist Church with Dr. Mark A Croston officiating. The body will be taken to the church for viewing at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Crocker Funeral Home Inc. is handling the arrangements.
