SUFFOLK –– Alonzo "Fishman" Boone, 65, of 614 Brook Avenue, Suffolk, entered into eternal rest on August 28, 2008 at Sentara Obici Hospital. He was a native of Gates, North Carolina. He was a member of New Mt. Joy Food for Living Ministries, Inc. where he sang in the Men’s Choir and Gospel Choir.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Annie Mae Murray of Suffolk; four aunts, Betty V. Barrett and Catherine Morings, both of Suffolk, MayBelle Adams of Chesapeake and Minnie Boone of Ahoskie, NC; a host of cousins, including a devoted cousin, Christopher Barrett of Suffolk; and other relatives and friends.

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at Crocker Funeral Home, 900 E. Washington St., officiated by Bishop William P. Wiggins. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
