WAKEFIELD - Mrs. Annie Lee Crocker of 300 Johnson Avenue, Wakefield, peacefully entered into eternal rest and peace on Saturday, January 5, 2008, in John Randolph Medical Center, Hopewell, at the age of 99. She was born in Southampton County and was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Boykins and her husband, Gurley R. Crocker.
She attended the public schools of Sussex County. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church of Ivor where she was a choir member and member of the Missionary Ministry. Mrs. Crocker was also a member of the Senior Citizens of Easter Sussex County and the Pride of Wakefield Chapter #37, O.E.S. PHA.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Linwood Crocker (Orris C.) and Elmo Crocker of Wakefield; 18 grandchildren, including three devoted granddaughters, Mary Ann French, Lorraine Thornton, and Elaine Wooden; 37 great grandchildren, 40 great great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
A Homegoing Service in her honor will be held at 12:00 noon, Thursday, January 10, 2008 at Ebenezer Baptist Church, Ivor, and will be officiated by The Rev. William T. Smith. Interment will be in the Boykins Family Cemetery, Wakefield. The family will be at 300 Johnson Avenue, Wakefield. Crocker Funeral Home, Suffolk, is handling arrangements.
