Alonzo "Sam" Skinner

ALONZO "SAM" SKINNER 

   

SUFFOLK - Alonzo "Sam" Skinner, 74, of 1020 COGIC Square, Suffolk, passed away December 7, 2008. A native of Nansemond County, he was son of the late Willie Lee and Elnora Tillery Skinner. Mr.

Skinner was a retired Brick Mason. He was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Sudie V. Skinner; two daughters, Denise Skinner and Alnesa Skinner, both of Suffolk; six grandchildren, Kimberly Skinner, Melody C. Skinner (William), LaToya Y. Skinner, Glenn L. Skinner, LaJonda C. Skinner and Anthony Skinner; eight great grandchildren; one aunt, Annie Mae White; nine stepchildren, Beverly Jackson, Ronnie Robinson, Laverne Weaver, Yvonne Gray, Shelia Wiggins (Sidney), Carolyn Reid, Gregory Robinson, Johnnie Robinson (Pamela) and Lisa Hite (Johnnie); two sisters, Mamie Skinner and Mildred Jones, both of Suffolk; one brother, Ocie Lee Skinner of Suffolk; a devoted niece, Cynthia Thompson (Leroy); a devoted nephew, Larry Skinner (Rhonda); devoted friends, Earnest and Josephine Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 13, 2008 at Lakeview Baptist Church, officiated by the pastor, Dr. John Jones. Interment will be in Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery. Crocker Funeral Home is handling arrangements
