SUFFOLK –– Betty Sue Daughtrey Deloatch of the 800 block of Kilby Avenue, Suffolk, went home to be with the Lord on May 30, 2008 at Sentara Obici Hospital. A native of Gates, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Betty Douglas Daughtrey and the widow of William Henry Deloatch, Jr..
She was retired from Domestic Work. Mrs. Daughtrey was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church where she sang in the Gospel Choir.
Mrs. Daughtrey leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Constance Copeland Cheeks (Samuel) and Francena Deloatch Croker (Bobby) of Suffolk; four sons, William H. Deloatch III (Alice) of Columbus, GA, Ronald Lee Deloatch, Marvin Deloatch, and Odell Deloatch (Brenda, all of Suffolk; one sister, Eutha Mae Valler of Suffolk; 18 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 5, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. in Saint Paul’s Baptist Church, 806 Lincoln Avenue, and will be officiated by Bishop C. V. Russell III. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. The family will be at 863 Haskins Drive (Wilson Lake Estates), Suffolk. Crocker Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
