SUFFOLK - Bettie Sue Davis was born August 22, 1941 in Nansemond County (Suffolk). She arrived at her heavenly home on March 7, 2008. She was the daughter of the late Ola Mae Branch Richardson and David Walker. She was predeceased by her long time companion and friend, Thomas Willis; her stepfather, John H. Richardson; and two brothers, Thomas Wilson and William Walker.

Ms. Bettie Davis attended East Suffolk High School. She was previously employed by Pond Brothers Peanut Company where she was a dedicated employee until her health would not permit her to continue. She was also a dedicated community mother and icon.

She will be deeply and sadly missed. She leaves to cherish her precious memory, a loving friend, Richard Parker; two sons, Ronny Davis, Sr. (Gloria) and William L. Carroll (Sarita); two daughters, Joycelyn F. Boone (Allen) and Chanda Davis; one daughter-in-law, Joyce Davis; one brother, Roy Lee Branch (Lonnie); five sisters, Theresa Hicks (Theodore), Dollie Frazier (Junius), Dorothy Horton (Zack), Lavone Williams (Johnnie), and Sandra Warren; eight grandchildren, Eugene Boone (Christine), Octavia Boone (Patrick), Ronny Davis, Jr. Randy Davis, Kemesha Davis, Merenda Davis, Steven Davis, and Quantaz Russell; one goddaughter, Rhonda Skinner (Larry); twelve great grandchildren, and a host of dedicated nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Thursday, March 13, 2008 at Faith Temple Ministries, officiated by Minister Wanda Richardson. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Crocker Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
