SUFFOLK - Bessie T. Sanchez, 65, of the 100 block of Hillside Avenue, Suffolk, passed away October 19, 2008 at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. She was born in New York City and was preceded in death by her father, Rocco Turso.

She retired in 2003 after 22 years of employment with the U. S. Postal Service. Bessie was an avid bowler and also, enjoyed traveling and playing cards. She was a member of many bowling leagues including the Women’’s Bowling Association (WBA).

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Rafael Sanchez of Suffolk; a daughter, Kim M. Sanchez of Bronx, NY; two sons, Frederick McGee and Ramon T. Sanchez; her mother, Dale Turso; two brothers, Melvin Turso and Rocco Turso; three grandchildren, Christina, Ramon Sanchez, Jr. and Taylor McGee; niece, Beverly Bridgette and her son, Ernest Bridgett; sisters-in-law, Eunice Harris, Dorcas Blackwood and Juliette Turso; other relatives and a host of friends.

Viewing will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at Crocker Funeral Home. Interment will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will be at 106 Hillside Avenue, Suffolk.
