SUFFOLK - Bernice Woodard Boyd Pierce of 200 Eley Court, Suffolk, in the 90th year of her life, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, January 10, 2007 in the quietness and peacefulness of her residence. She was a native of Southampton County and was daughter of the late Nathaniel and Catherine Roberts Woodard and the widow of The Rev. Ruben Pierce.
Mrs. Pierce retired in 1997 from domestic work. She was a devoted member of St. Timothy Baptist Church where she served on the Senior Usher Board and Missionary Board.
She leaves to cherish her memory: a foster daughter, Roslyn Bernice Scott of Suffolk; and a host of nieces, nephews cousins, and other relatives.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 14, 2007 at St. Timothy Baptist Church, officiated by The Rev. Thomas Harden and The Rev. Joseph Chapman, Jr. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. The family will be at 200 Eley Court. Crocker Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
