CYNTHIA RUFFIN BAILEY 
 
 

 

Cynthia Ruffin Bailey peacefully answered the call of Our Lord on Monday, September 7, 2009 in Shenandoah, Texas after a long illness which she courageously fought for several years. Her resilience, strength and faith in God were greatly admired by family, friends and a host of caregivers.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ocie Lee Ruffin, Jr.; brother, Major Lee Ruffin, Sr.; sister, Betty Ruffin Ellis; and grandson, Derek Hunter.

She is survived by three children, Vickie Bailey Clark (Bernard), Jeffery Bailey (Sandy), Pamela Bailey and a special foster child, Barbara Davis Hill; her mother, Ruth Christine Ruffin; brothers, Sylvester Ruffin (Jessie), Wayne Ruffin (Glennis), Ocie Lee Ruffin, 3rd (Lucille); sisters, Barbara McDonald (Phillip), Rosiland Ruffin, Ruth Banks (James); grandchildren, great grandchildren; many loving nieces, nephews and a host of cousins and friends. She will be fondly remembered for her smile, kindness and dedication to her family.

In honor of her life, family and friends will visit to share words of comfort and love on Monday, September 14, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at Antioch United Church of Christ located at 900 Hull Street, Suffolk with Homegoing Service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Holly Lawn Cemetery. Final arrangements have been entrusted to Ben Davis Funeral Home, Columbus, Texas and Crocker Funeral Home.
