Darryl Ercell "Cookmo" Lawrence, 40, of 624 Clary’s Drive, Suffolk, passed away, December 7, 2007 at his residence. He was a native of Nansemond County and the son of the late Lucille Smith Lawrence and John Henry Lawrence.

Mr.Lawrence was a graduate of Suffolk High School and was later employed at Nansemond Cold Storage. He was a member of Gates of Heaven C.O.G.I.C.,Suffolk.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Jacqueline Lawrence of Suffolk, Va.; a step-daughter, Keishona Waddler of Hampton, Va.; one son, Derrick D. Waddler of Suffolk, Va.; four sisters, Martha Lawrence of Seaford, DE., Dorothy Jenkins (Wilmar) of Seaford, DE., Beulah Lawrence (Michael Brown) of Suffolk, Va and Janet Pennix (Darryl Lamonte Pennix) of Suffolk, Va.; three brothers, John T. Lawrence (Nellie), Robert V. Lawrence (Rachel) and Howard L. Lawrence (Anna Powell), all of Suffolk, Va; two grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at Gates of Heaven C.O.G.I.C.,112 Beech Street, Suffolk, with Elder Sylvester Silver, officiating. The wake will be held Tuesday at the funeral home from 7 p.m. - 8 p.m. Interment will be held in Carver Memorial Cemetery. The The family will receive friends at 326 Greenfield Crescent, Suffolk. Crocker Funeral Home, Inc., is handling the arrangements.
