SUFFOLK - Daisy H. Foster (81) of the 5800 block of Hawk Lane, Suffolk, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 10, 2008 at Nansemond Pointe Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center. She was a native of Suffolk, and was the daughter of the late Johnnie and Louvenia Allen Wilson.
She was a graduate of East Suffolk High School. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church where she served on the Senior Usher Board, was former Financial Secretary, and a member of the Emma V. Kelly Hospitality Club. She was also a member of the Senior Citizens Club.
Mrs. Foster leaves behind to treasure her memory: her husband, Howard M. Foster of Suffolk; five daughters, Nancy Thrower (John), Patricia Holland, Iris Cornish, Doris Jordan (Ronnie), and Ann Boone (Hollis), all of Suffolk; five sons, Willie Holland of Ridgewood, NJ, Anthony Foster (Relanda), Nathan Foster (Diane), Timothy Holland, and Eduardo Holland (Rhonda), all of Suffolk; one sister, Victoria Wilson of Suffolk; two brothers, Ernest Wilson (Sevella) and James Pope (Connie) of Suffolk; 28 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and friends, including close friends, Amanda Walker, Ethel King, Dorothy Wilson, Madie Pope, George and Geraldine Hatton, and Suffolk Senior Citizens.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 16, 2008 at Macedonia Baptist Church, 8300 Crittenden Road, Suffolk, and will be officiated by Rev. J. B. Townsell. Interment will be in the church cemetery. A Wake Service will be held Friday from 6:00––8:00 p.m. at Crocker Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Eduardo Holland, 1748 Mt. Lebanon Avenue Thursday from 4:00––7:00 p.m. and will assemble at the home of Anthony Foster, 8401 Crittenden Road at 10:00 a.m. for the procession to the church. Crocker funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
