EARLINE JESSIE THOMPSON LAMB

 

 

Sunset Services for Mrs. Earline Jessie Thompson Lamb of 814 Seminole Drive, Suffolk VA, will be held Wednesday January 23, 2008, 11:00 am at Greater Sweet Beulah Holiness Church, Suffolk Virginia 23434, Rev. Madison G. Copeland officiating. Crocker Funeral Home, Suffolk, VA will be in charge of the viewing for the family & friends at the church from 10:00am - 11 :OO am, Wednesday, January 23, 2008. There will be a military burial at the Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, VA.

The sun rose on October 27, 1938 when Earline J. Thompson Lamb was born in Rock Hill, SC. She is the daughter of Mrs. Callie H. Thompson and the late Fred L. Thompson of Rock Hill, SC.

Mrs. Lamb joined Mount Prospect Baptist Church, Rock Hill, SC at an early age and was very active in various church activities, She attended the York County Schools and graduated from Emmett Scott High School. She also graduated from Friendship Junior College, Rock Hill, SC. She then joined the United States Navy. While serving her enlistment, she met the love of her life. John O. lamb. This union of 48 years produced two loving daughters, Mrs. Ruby Jennell L. Purifoy and Miss Johnetta Lamb. She was a homemaker and avid ceramics crafter.

Mrs. Lamb is survived by her devoted husband John O. lamb and the two" lovely daughters Ruby Jennell L. Purifoy (Willie) of Midlothian, Virginia and Johnnetta Lamb of Philadelphia, PA; 2 granddaughters that she adored Alexandria N. Purifoy and Erika S. Purifoy; Mother, Callie H. Thompson of Rock Hill, SC; one uncle Robert Lee of Rock HiII,SC; one aunt Greta L. Dunn, of FL; two brothers Jerome C. Thompson (Bobbie Jean, dec.) of Rock Hill, SC and Jonathan W. Thompson (Sandra) of Mint Hill, NC; four sisters Freddie T. Smith (King) of Charlotte, NC, Barbara T. Richmond and Patricia T. Ware (Willie) of Rock Hill, SC and Lola T. Canty (Waddell) of Charlotte, NC., brothers-in-1aw Floyd Harper (dec.), Eddie Lamb, Washington, DC and Sisters-in-Iaw, Catherine L. Barr (Elder William), Arlene lamb (Willie lamb dec.) of Washington, DC, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, adopted I children and special friends.

There will be no repast, however, the family appreciates your continued thoughts and prayers during this time of bereavement.
