SUFFOLK - Elizabeth Queen Hunter, 83, of the 400 block of Riddick Circle, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010 in Nansemond Pointe Rehabilitation Center. She was a native of Nansemond County and the daughter of the late Virginius Copeland and Queen Fannie Copeland.
She attended Norfolk State College (University). She was a homemaker/babysitter for more than 50 years. She was a longtime member of Metropolitan Baptist Church.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Eddie Hunter; one son, James L. Holland Jr. of Brandywine, Md.; four daughters, Sharon E. Hart (Alton) of Suffolk, Edwina Hunter of Richmond, Va., Melinda A. Hunter of Norfolk, Melissa A. Hunter of Suffolk; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; aunt, Lucille Lawrence of Courtland, Va.; sisters in-law, Ruth Copeland of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Lilly Hunter of Abilene, Texas; brothers-in-law, Edward Hunter of Abilene and Herbert Darden of Suffolk; two godsons, Calvin Palmer of Temple Hill, Md., and Troy Brinkley of Suffolk; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 1, in Metropolitan Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. Robert Hobbs. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Crocker Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
