SUFFOLK - Emily T. Boone of 317 Duke Street, Suffolk, entered into eternal rest and peace on March 26, 2008 in Sentara Obici Hospital. She was born in Gates, North Carolina to the late Johnnie Bell and Mary Lizzie Boone. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jannie Boone.
She was a member of New Mount Joy Food for Living Ministries, Inc. where she served on the Usher Board and was a member of the W. P. Wiggins Gospel Choir.
She leaves to cherish her memory, three daughters, Darlene Boone, Renee Donaldson (Marshall), and Esther Riddick, all of Suffolk; four sons, Thurman Boone (Jacqueline) of Suffolk, David Boone of Norfolk, Connie Riddick, and Darnell Boone (Valyncia) of Suffolk; four sisters, Margret Boothe (Joseph), Martha Hall, Syroa Milteer (Zachariah), and Sandra Boone, all of Suffolk; three brothers, Johnnie Boone (Helen), Ocie Lee Boone, and Kevin Boone, all of Suffolk; 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A homegoing service will be held Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at New Mount Joy Food for Living Ministries, Inc., officiated by Bishop William P. Wiggins, D.D. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 319 N. Capitol Street and will assemble at 317 Duke Street for the funeral processional on Wednesday. Crocker Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
