SUFFOLK - Eunice Virginia Willis Lawrence of 3583 Nansemond Parkway, Suffolk, went home to be with the Lord on December 29, 2008. She was a native of Suffolk and daughter of the late Charlie and Henrietta Artis Willis. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Elias Willis, Sr.

She attended East Suffolk High School and was a member of Poplar Run Baptist Church.

Surviving to cherish her memory are two daughters, Eunice L. Spratley (Fred) of Suffolk and Yvonne Lawrence of New Hampshire; four sons, William L. Lawrence, Jr. (Edna) of Suffolk, Calvin R. Lawrence, Sr. (Renee) of Portsmouth, Vernell Lawrence (Brandi) and Jessie Lawrence of Suffolk; one sister, Flossie W. Williams of Suffolk; 17 grandchildren, t step grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, four step great grandchildren, three step great great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Lucille Willis; six nieces, four nephews; devoted cousin, Martha Scott-Gordon; special friends, Robert Williams and Daniel Council; several other cousins, In-laws and a multitude of friends.

A Homegoing service will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, January 3, 2009 at Poplar Run Baptist Church, 5330 Bennetts Pasture Road, officiated by the Rev. James A. Williams, Jr. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The body will be taken to the church at 11:00 a.m. Crocker Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
