Surviving to cherish her memory, her devoted husband, Mack L. Lassiter, Sr. of Suffolk; eight daughters, Delois Coles (Samuel), Elsie Wilson of Suffolk, Evelyn Robinson (Henderson) of Smithfield, Gloria Jean Woodley (Milton) of Oxon Hill, MD, Geraldine Waters (Vernon), Melissa Lassiter of Suffolk, Michelle Creekmore (Phillip "Phil") of Portsmouth, and Tracy Lassiter of Suffolk; two sons, Mack L. Lassiter, Jr. (Linda) of Portsmouth and Kevin Lassiter of Suffolk; two sisters, Ella Mae Brown of Suffolk and Edna Gholston of Isle of Wight County; 27 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild; devoted sisters-in-law, Bertha Mae Powell of Suffolk and Mattie Lassiter of Detroit, MI; devoted cousin, Willie Lee Powell of Virginia Beach; devoted niece, Angela Wilson of Suffolk; sisters-in-law, Inez King and Margaret Staggs of Suffolk; brothers-in-law, Hoarce Lassiter (Eliza) and Russell Lassiter; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, July 21, 2008 at Healing Chapel Baptist Church, 2375 Giodwin Blvd., and will be officiated by the Rev. Morris Almond and Elder George Woodley. Interment will be in Christian Home Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be at the residence. Crocker Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
