The Lord called home our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Aunt, Florence Lee Ricks on Monday evening, February 2, 2009 at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Most people knew her as Puddin or Lee. She was the daughter of the late Willie and Ethel Ricks.

At an early age, she became a member of the New Emmanuel Church of God in Christ and accepted Jesus Christ in her life. She attended Suffolk Public Schools.

She leaves behind a sweet loving daughter, Scarlett Henrietta Chapman; one son whom she loved very much, Henry Willis Ricks; five grandchildren, LaShonda Chapman, Alishe Chapman, Anthony Chapman, Elijah Chapman and Henry Mays Ricks; one sister, Linda Marie Ricks Artis of Suffolk; seven brothers, Willie Ricks, Jr. of Sanford, NC, Ronald Ricks of Hampton, Gregory Ricks and Kenneth Ricks of Jarratt, VA, Garland Ricks, Sr. Michael J. Ricks both of Suffolk, Leon Ricks of Norfolk; a very special friend, Mr Ralph Noel of Norfolk; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Hattie (Jennie) Ricks of Suffolk; many nieces, nephews and friends. She will be missed by all.

A funeral service will be held 12:00 noon, Saturday, February 7, 2009 at Crocker Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Madison G. Copeland officiating. Interment will be at Carver Memorial Cemetery. Crocker Funeral Home, Inc. is handling the arrangements.
