Suffolk - Grace Mason, 76 of 2077 Nansemond Parkway, Suffolk died Monday, September 7, 2009 in Sentara Obici Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Harold Cross and Hattie Sue Wilson Cross. She was also predeceased by her husband, Herbert Mason and a sister, Mable Tyler.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, 112 Mahan Street where she was a Deaconess, former member of Willing Worker’s Club and Sunday School Ministry.

She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Larry Vernon Mason of Suffolk; a devoted grandson, Vernon Mason of Suffolk and stepson, Alvin Simpson of Suffolk; one sister, Anna Ashley of Suffolk; one brother, Harold Cross (Corine) of Suffolk; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held 12:00 noon, Saturday, September 12, 2009 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Steven G. Blunt officiating. Entombment will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. Crocker Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
