SUFFOLK - Grace R. Toomer, 98, passed away November 11, 2008 in the comfort of her residence, 319 Bullock Street, Suffolk. A native of Isle of Wight County, she was daughter of the late William and Willie Ivory Reynolds and the widow of Charlie Toomer. She was preceded in death by a son, Charlie Lee White.

She was retired from domestic work and was a former member of Tabernacle Christian Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Willie Mae Griffin of Suffolk, one son, James R. White (Ruth) of Suffolk; eleven grandchildren, Ruby Davis, Owen Ricks (Alma), Marvin, Cynthia (Elvis), Karen, Keith, Kim, Kendall, Katrina (Calvin), Ronnie Burgess, Cheryl White; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, November 15, 2008 at Crocker Funeral Home, officiated by Bishop Madison G. Copeland. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. The family will be at the residence and will assemble there at 11:00 a.m. for the funeral procession.
