Julia Hazel Ricks of 4412 Duck Town Road, Zuni, VA died Monday, March 9, 2009 in Southampton Memorial Hospital, East Pavilion in Franklin, VA. She was the daughter of the late Robert Duck and Colia Carr. She was also predeceased by her husband, Lloyd Ricks and son, Warren Ricks.

She is survived by granddaughters, Katina Gallien (Ernest, Jr.) of Williamsburg, VA and Kisha Bowers of Windsor, VA; great-granddaughters, Sunnidae and True Julianna Gallien.

To cherish her memory, she leaves her love to her sister, three brothers and step-grandchildren, Bridgette Clowney of Kannapolis, NC and Leroy Clowney, III of Charlotte, NC.

A funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2009 at Chapel Grove United Church of Christ, Windsor officiated by Rev. J. J. Ferguson and Pastor H. Carlyle Church. Interment will be in the church cemetery. There will be visitation at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2009. Crocker Funeral Home, Inc. is handling the arrangements.
