On Wednesday, June 11, 2008, Our Sovereign God - who never leaves anything to chance, called our beloved Johnnie Junior Boone of 208 Central Avenue, Suffolk, Virginia home to rest. Johnnie's sunset was at Obici Hospital, Suffolk, Virginia.
Johnnie was known by all as "June." He was born in Gates, North Carolina on June 15, 1937 to the late Johnnie B. Boone and Mary E. Boone. Later, he relocated to Suffolk, Virginia with his wife Helen L. Boone. Johnnie was a clear-cut and precise man who treated everyone equally. He loved and cherished his family dearly.
He was preceded in death by his sisters; Emily T. Boone, Mary M. Boone, Alice M. Robinson, and his brother Alexander Boone. He is survived by his loving wife, Helen L. Boone; three daughters, Princess A. Dickerson, Crystal R. Rollack and Carolyn D. Strand (Lawrence); eleven sons, James R. Boone, David J: Boone, Bernard Boone, Michael A. Boone (Angela), Michael Simpson (Hattie), Alfanisa Boone, Kinnie L. Boone, Keyven Boone, Kim A. Boone (Stephanie), Ray T. Boone (Shanell) and Richard Rollack (Ophelia); four sisters, Margaret A. Boothe, Martha E. Hall, Syroa M. Milteer and Sandra M. Boone; three brothers, Ocie Lee Boone, Maso Johnson, and Calvin D. Boone; 16 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
The viewing of the body will be Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at Crocker Funeral Home. A service to celebrate his life and home going will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 16, 2008 at Antioch U.C.C. located at 900 Hull Ave, Suffolk, VA. Reverend Jarvis Jones will officiate the service. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
