HAMPTON - Jimmy James Lankford, 47, of the 600 block of Hemlock Avenue, Hampton, passed away June 1, 2009 at his home. He was a native of Surry County and son of the late Mae L. Norman.

He attended John F. Kennedy High School, Suffolk and he was employed at Smithfield Packing Company.

He leaves to cherish his memory three daughters, Jamie Darden, Jacinta Darden of Suffolk and Tunisia Nichols (Glenn) of Hampton, VA; two grandchildren, Davon Darden and Bradford Knight; one sister, Mariah M. Moody; three brothers, Ollie Lankford, Jr., Harry L. Lankford and Eddie Lankford; a best friend, Wayne Harrison; close friend, Dorothy Brooks; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held 12:00 noon, Saturday, June 6, 2009 at Crocker Funeral Home. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will be at 925 Brook Avenue, Apt. 160, Suffolk. (Entrance on Kilby Avenue side) The family will also assemble at this address on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
