Joseph M. Edmonds, 62 of 380 Collier Crescent, Suffolk died Tuesday, April 14, 2009 in Sentara Obici Hospital. He was a native of New York, NY and the son of the late Elizabeth S. Edmonds. He was also predeceased by his wife, Diane Edmonds and one brother, Jesse J. Greene. 

He attended Booker T. Washington High School. He retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years of service. He was a member of True Gospel Ministries. 

He is survived by two sons, Ricky Edmonds and  Michael Edmonds; one sister, Annette L. Speller(brother-in-law Joe Speller); one grandchild, Jose Omae Ward; two brothers, Clease Edmonds and Henry Edmonds; special nieces, Tinisia Newsome and Kesharra Jordan; special great nieces, Shaquala Jordan, Shakira Jordan and Chasity Newsome; special nephews, Javon Jordan, Letravise Jordan and Demetriuse Jordan; and a host of other uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and friends. 

A funeral will be held 12:00 p.m. Friday, April 24, 2009 at True Gospel Ministries, officiated by Pastor Daniel Boone. Interment will be in Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 5310 Milner’s Road in Suffolk. The family will be at his residence. Crocker Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
