Suffolk - John Price, Jr., 50 of 2100 block of Kentucky Avenue, Suffolk, VA died Wednesday, July 8, 2009. He was a native of Ivor, VA and the son of Lucy M. Price and the late John Price, Sr.

He attended Southampton County Public Schools. He was employed at Ferguson Manufacturing and was also a newspaper carrier for Virginian-Pilot. He was a member of Mission of Deliverance COGIC.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Lola Price; one daughter LaTonia Goodwyn of Suffolk; three sons, Shavis Holloman of Newport News, VA, Ricky Goodwyn and LaTroy Goodwyn of Suffolk; seven grandchildren; four sisters, Angela Lane and Deborah Powell (Rev. Kenneth Powell) both of Zuni, JoAnne Jenkins (Rev. Charles Jenkins) of Smithfield, VA and Sandra Tyler (Ronald) of Ivor; three brothers, Herbert Price (Nichole) of Petersburg, VA, Melvin Price (Gloria) of Wakefield, VA and Michael Price (Bryonna); a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 13, 2009 at Mission of Deliverance COGIC, 6560 Crumpler Road, Ivor with Elder Elbert Louis, Sr. officiating. Interment will be in Binns Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the residence and will also assemble there on Monday at 12:30 p.m. for the procession to the church. The body will be placed in the church at 12:30 p.m. Crocker Funeral Home, Inc. is handling the arrangements.
