James Russell Faulk, Sr.,72, of 122 S. 12th Street, Suffolk, departed this life on Wednesday evening, December 12, 2007 at Sentara Obici Hospital. He was a native of Nansemond County and the son of the late John Italy and Isabelle O. Faulk. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Mae Faulk.
He retired from Lipton Tea Co. after approximately 40 years of service. He was a former member of Piney Grove Baptist church, Buckhorn Station, Suffolk, Va; and attended the former George Tyler School, Windsor, Va.
He leaves to cherish his memory: two daughters, Carolyn F. Harris (Alvin) of Newport News, Va., and Brenda Simpson of Suffolk, Va.; one son, James R. Faulk, Jr. and his wife of Belleville, Ill.; two sisters, Daisy Lee Johnson (Wilbert) of Zuni, Va., and Gladys Faulk of Suffolk, Va.; one brother, David T. Faulk (Clara Mae) of Suffolk, Va.; eight grandchildren, one great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A homegoing service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 15, 2007 at Crocker Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Parker, Officiating. Interment will be held in Carver Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 1989 Whitemarsh Rd., Suffolk. Crocker Funeral Home, Inc. is handling the arrangements.
