Florida - Kenneth Earl Lawrence, 51 died Monday, September 7, 2009 in Shands Hospital Jacksonville, Florida. He was a native of Suffolk, VA and the son of the late James Lawrence and Mildred Chestnut Lawrence.

He was a graduate of John Yeates High School and Virginia State University with a B.S. degree in Sociology. He was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Jacksonville and a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.

He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Doreen Lawrence of Norfolk, VA and Jawanna Jones of Jacksonville, FL; four grandchildren, Jowann, Darrius, Donnterria and Harley; two sisters, Mildred A. Moore (William, Jr.) and Wanda M. Lawrence both of Suffolk; one brother, James Lawrence, Jr. of Jacksonville; ten aunts, one great aunt, two uncles; five nieces, Ebony, Tiaka, Natalie, Wandreia and Tyler; a host of cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be 3:00 p.m., Monday, September 14, 2009 at Crocker Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Elder Keith Mayfield. The family will be at 2010 Smalleys Dam Circle in Suffolk. Crocker Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
