LILLIAN BROWN WHITFIELD 

 

Lillian Brown Whitfield, of the 300 block of South Division Street, passed away June 25, 2008. She was a native of Nansemond County and daughter of the late James and Celestine Daughtrey Brown.

Her survivors include a sister, Frances B. Powell, of Suffolk; two nieces, Lessie Evans, of Washington, D.C., and Adrienne Ruffin, of Washington, D.C.; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2008, at First Baptist Church, Mahan Street, officiated by the Rev. Steven G. Blunt. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. The body will be taken to the church at 9:30 a.m. The family will be at 308 South Division St. Crocker Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
