Lenora Dildy Almond

LENORA DILDY ALMOND 

   

SUFFOLK - Lenora Dildy Almond of the 2500 block of East Washington Street, Suffolk, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 11, 2008. A native of Nansemond County (Suffolk), she was the daughter of the late Harrison and Pearl Dildy Holland and the widow of Dennis Almond. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Clyde Turner, Irvin Dildy, and Henry Lee Dildy.

She was a member of Greater First Baptist Church, Orlando.

She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Laverne Doughty (Rodney) and Patricia Jordan of Suffolk; five sons, Hugh Almond, Larry Almond (Betty), Norman Almond, Herman Almond, all of Suffolk and Marvin Almond of Portsmouth; one stepson, Herman P. Almond of Bronx, NY; two sisters, Beulah Mae Dildy and Shirley Davis (Jerry) of Suffolk; two brothers, Harry Holland and William Holland (Rosa) of Suffolk; eleven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; special sister-in-law, Annie Almond; other relatives and a host of friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 15, 2008 at First Baptist Church, Orlando. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. The family will be at the home of Laverne Doughty, 1229 Blythewood Lane. Crocker Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
