PORTSMOUTH – Larry Hamlin, 37, of the 2300 block of Parker Avenue, Portsmouth, passed away September 24, 2008. He was born in Nansemond County and attended Craddock High School of Portsmouth. He was formerly employed as a concrete finisher by A & H. Concrete Company. Mr. Hamlin was preceded in death by two brothers, Vernon Hamlin and Alton Hamlin, Jr.
Surviving to mourn his passing and cherish his memory are his wife,Atoya Hamlin of Portsmouth; daughters, Kashema Harrell, Vernesha Harrell and Tanajah Harrell, all of Portsmouth; son, Larry Terelle Harrell of Portsmouth; stepdaughters, Keara Harrell and Kaletra Harrell of Suffolk; mother, Agnes Louise Hamlin of Suffolk; father, Alton Lee Hamlin, Sr. (Vanessa) of Suffolk; sisters, Rose Mary Boone of Suffolk and Sabrina Hamlin of Portsmouth; brother, Garry Hamlin of Suffolk; stepbrother, Terrance Minggia of Suffolk; paternal grandmother, Susie Mae Hamlin of Suffolk; sisters-in-law, Shenetta Hamlin of Chesapeake, Jerea Wiggins (Dwayne) and Aquia Harrell, all of Suffolk; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
The funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon Monday, September 29, 2008 at New Mount Joy Food for Living Ministries, Inc., 307 County Street, Suffolk, officiated by Pastor Daryl Artis. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. The family will be at 1912 Copeland Road, Suffolk. Crocker Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
