Suffolk - Marzella Burton Cherry of 103 Charlotte Avenue, Suffolk died Thursday, January 22, 2009 at Sentara Obici Hospital. She was a native of Southampton County, VA and the daughter of the late George Burton and Julia Smith Hart. She was also predeceased by her husband, William Cherry.
She was a former member of Sixth Street Baptist Church.
She leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Antonio Cherry and Javias Cherry of Suffolk; one grandchild; three sisters, Nellie Burton, Hilda Boone (Joseph) of Suffolk and Georgia Mae Burton of Florida; a devoted friend, Clarence Parker; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
The funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m.Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at Sixth Street Baptist Church with Rev. James Wiliams officiating. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Crocker Funeral Home, Inc. is handling the arrangements.
