SUFFOLK - Marie B. Johnson of 8488 Pineview Road, Suffolk, passed away on April 1, 2008 at her residence.  She was born in Gates County, NC and was the daughter of the late Amos and Inez Smith Baker.

She was a member of New Piney Grove Baptist Church, Gates where she was a member of the choir.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband, James Johnson; one daughter, Peggy Riddick of Suffolk; one sister, Dorothy Dorsey of Brooklyn, NY;  two grandchildren and one great grandchild; a devoted niece, Janet Dildy of Suffolk; a devoted nephew, Clayton Boone of Suffolk; and nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The service to celebrate her life will be held Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at New Piney Grove Baptist Church, Gates, officiated by The Rev. Larry Moore.  Interment will be in Laurel Hill Church Cemetery.  Crocker Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
