She attended the Brown and Dodge Elementary School in Courtland, Virginia, the Nansemond County Training School and graduated from the Southwestern High School, Suffolk, Virginia.
She married Jimmie L. Goodman making a home in the Suffolk rural area.
Became a member of Corinth Chapel United Church of Christ where she serves as the Financial Secretary and a member of both the Senior and Gospel Choirs, member of Pastors Aide, Women’’s Fellowship. Member of the Citizens Academy Association and graduate of the Police/Fire Academy.
She attended Paul D. Camp Community College, Franklin & Suffolk, (Business Education); graduate of Jackson Hewitt Tax Services, graduated of G. C. Murphy Supervisory Training, Retiree of the City of Suffolk Commissioner of Revenue Office and the sole proprietor of MG’’s Bookkeeping Service and Associate Manager of the Pre-paid Legal Services.
Hobbies consisted of sewing, cooking, accounting and other technology interest and loving children.
She was survived by a dedicated and loving husband Jimmie Lee Goodman of Suffolk, VA; two sisters Delvin T. Gatling (Anthony) of Silver Spring, MD; Zelma M. Harris of Glen Burnie, MD; one brother preceded in death Jeremiah Clarke, Jr. (Jerry or Jerr Boy); two brothers-in-law, Hurley and Ray Goodman of Suffolk; one sister-in law Hazel Lowther of Suffolk, VA; four nieces Lesia Boone-Johnson (James) Petersburg, VA, June Gray (Derrick) Severn, MD, Bertina Goodman, and LaTonya Brown (Dewayne) Suffolk, VA, five nephews Talmadge Goodman, Norfolk, VA, Keith Boone (Lafayetta) Bowie, MD, Ricardo Kelly, Glen Burnie, MD, and Earl Goodman, Suffolk, VA; five great nieces; two great nephews; two god-daughters Cassandra Faulk of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, and Zaria Jones of Suffolk, VA; three god-sons Sgt. Gregory Roberts (Allyson) of Jacksonville, NC, Ricardo Kelly of Glen Burnie, MD and Jonte Bullock of Suffolk, VA and a host of aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.
The Funeral will be held Tuesday, July 22, 2008, 1:00 p.m. at Corinth Chapel United Church of Christ, 7945 Corinth Chapel Road, Suffolk, by the Rev. John T. Myers. The family will be receiving friends at 8800 Pineview Road, Suffolk. The family will meet friends and relatives at Crocker Funeral Home on Monday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
