SUFFOLK - McKinley K. Leary   of  the  300 block of Bullock Street, Suffolk, passed away January 10, 2008 in Sentara Obici Hospital at the age of 76. She was a native of Colerain, North Carolina and son of the late Hewbert and Cleo Jenkins Leary. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Roosevelt Leary, Willie Lee Leary, and Luther Leary. He was retired from Birdsong Peanuts, Inc. and was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, Colerain, NC.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife, Rosa Leary of the home; three daughters, Vanessa Clark of Richmond, Tabitha Ward, and Teresa Ward of Suffolk; six sons, Harvey Glenn Hardy of Colerain, NC, McKinley Leary, Jr. and Roderick Terell Leary of Suffolk, Edward Vincent Clark of Cleveland, OH, Wilbert Lee Steverson, Jr., and Charlie McCoy Steverson of Suffolk; two brothers, Rochelle Leary and Lloyd Leary; devoted friend, "Bubba Baker"; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at Crocker Funeral Home by The Rev. Bettie Brower. Interment will be in Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Colerain. The family will be at 301 Bullock Street. Crocker Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
