MARGARET LUCILLE RODGERS PARKER 

 

Margaret Lucille Rodgers Parker of Suffolk passed away March 28, 2008 in Autumn Care of Suffolk. She was a native of Jacksonville, Florida and was the daughter of the late Lucille Rodgers and Gray Rodgers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe C. Parker.

Mrs. Parker was a retired Companion Aide worker with Suffolk Department of Social Services. She was a faithful member of New First Baptist Church Hosier Road, Suffolk.

She leaves to cherish fond memories: three foster daughters, Thomasine Lewis, Vanessa Newsome and Jacqueline Lewis, all of Suffolk, Virginia; one foster son, Willie Deloatch of Suffolk, Virginia; one brother, Charlie Rodgers; six grandchildren, Nichell Lewis of Suffolk, Tina Lewis of Norfolk, Lashanda Newson, Crystal Newson, Jazlynn Lewis and Ernest Thorpe, III, cousin; Columbus "Redd" Hill; niece, Lucille "Emily" Rodgers; Devoted friends, Janice Parker and family.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 4, 2008 in Carver Memorial Cemetery, with Bishop Madison Copeland Officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 10:45 a.m. Crocker Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
