Nellie Cooper Brown, 96, of 1700 East Washington Street died Tuesday, January 13, 2009 in Autumn Care of Suffolk. She was a Native of Corapeake, NC and daughter of the late Cora Cooper. She was also predeceased by her husband, William C. Brown; her daughter, Marion B. Godwin; her son, William M. Brown.

She retired from Planters Peanut Company after 38 years. She was a member of East End Baptist Church.

She leaves to cherish her memories one son, Owen Leander Brown (Diane) of Houston, Texas; 7 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren; and other relatives and many friends.

The funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 17, 2009 at East End Baptist Church with Dr. Mark Croston officiating. Interment will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The Family will be at 1115 Custis Road, Suffolk, VA. Crocker Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
