SUFFOLK - Rosetta Alston, 60 of 511 Ashley Ave, died Saturday, July 4, 2009 at Sentara Obici Hospital. She was a native of Nansemond County and the daughter of Rosa Lee Alston and the late Willie Alston. She was predeceased by her brother, James Alston.

She was a 1968 graduate of John F. Kennedy High School and she was member of Lakeview Missionary Baptist Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Rosa Lee Alston of Suffolk, VA; one daughter, Maisha Phillips of Suffolk, VA; one son, Mannielle Britt of Suffolk, VA; three sisters, Willie Mae Mayfield of Suffolk, VA, Margarita Clark (Vernon, Sr.) and Elsie M. Taylor (Robert Jeffery) of Portsmouth, VA; one brother, Elvie Lee Alston (Virgie) of Suffolk, VA; two grandchildren; devoted friends, Bonnie Johnson, Anthony L. Jones, Bettie Pope, and Ethel Mae Evans all of Suffolk; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, family and friends.

The funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, July 9, 2009 at Lakeview Missionary Baptist Church, 635 Brooke Ave, Suffolk, VA officiated by Dr. John E. Jones. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive family and friends at 511 Ashley Avenue. Crocker Funeral Home, Inc. is handling the arrangements.
