Robert E. Eley, 57, of 6113 Apt. A, Bradford Drive of Suffolk, died Thursday, October 1, 2009 at Sentara Obici Hospital, he was a native of Suffolk, VA. He was the son of the late Robert Lee Eley and Ethel Strong Eley.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Linda D. Eley of Suffolk, VA; three daughters, Rhonda M. Darden (Alexander) , LaTeachia Newsome (Ron) and Rochelle Eley, all of Suffolk, VA; two sons, Reginald Taylor (Victoria) of Seattle Washington, and Robert M. Eley (Renee) of Suffolk, VA; two sisters, Patricia Walker (Warren) of Chesapeake, VA and Evelyn Eley of Suffolk; three brothers, Ronald Eley (Lavern) of Chesapeake, VA, James Eley and Michael Eley both of Suffolk, VA; one aunt, Alice Taylor of Philadelphia, PA; one uncle, Clarence Strong of Ahoskie, NC; one brother-in-law, Lonnie Taylor of Maryland; one sister-in-law, Stella Jackson; sixteen grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at Mt. Lebanon Church of God In Christ, 1732 Mt. Lebanon Ave, Suffolk, VA. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 6113 Apt. A, Bradford, Dr., Suffolk, VA. Crocker Funeral Home, Inc., is handling arrangements.
