Robert Keyes of 173 Lummis Road, Suffolk, died Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at Sentara Obici Hospital. He was a native of Nansemond County and the son of the late Gladys Keyes.

He was a former member of House of Prayer No. 1 in Franklin, VA.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Joyce A. Keyes; two daughters, Mary Ann Riddick of Suffolk and Tomeka Keyes of Franklin; one son Robert Keyes, Jr. (Paula) of Suffolk; seven grandchildren; his father, Herman Lee Mitchell of New York; one sister, Gladys Pope of Courtland; one brother, Johnny Sessoms of Suffolk; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, September 20, 2009, at Crocker Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Minister Kelvin Green. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will assemble at 173 Lummis Road at noon for the procession to the funeral. Crocker Funeral Home, Inc. is handling the arrangements.
