Mr. Robert Lee Anderson, 75, of 1808 Myrick Ave., Suffolk, Va., died June 29, 2008 in Sentara Obici Hospital. A native of Nansemond County, he was the son of Zanie Lee Anderson Sr. and Annie Mae Savage-Anderson. He was preceded in death by a son, Ralph A. Anderson, a sister, Ada Wright, and two brothers, Raymond L. Anderson and Zanie L. Anderson Jr.

Mr. Anderson was a member of Pleasant Union Baptist Church, Sunday school, missionary circle, men's fellowship, usher board and pastor's aid, and a member of the Hollywood Civic League. He was formerly employed by the A&P Peanut Company and later retired from Birdsong Peanut Company in 1994.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Marion Anderson; six daughters, Judith D. Anderson, Regina Anderson, Mary V. Anderson, Sandra R. Anderson, Marion O. Coats, and April D. Anderson, all of Suffolk, Va; six sons, Jerry L. Goodman Sr. (Betty), Robert L. Anderson Jr., Ronnie C. Anderson Sr. (Felecia), Ricardo L. Anderson Sr., Mark C. Anderson Sr. (Blanche), and Anthony W. Anderson Sr., all of Suffolk, Va.; and a sister, Juanita Johnson of Suffolk. He also is survived by 34 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A wake service will be held today from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, July 3, 2008 at noon in Pleasant Union Baptist Church, 215 Webb St., Suffolk, by the Rev. V.T. Chambers. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. The family will assemble at the home at 11 a.m.
