Ruth Langston Boone, 82, of 8167 Whaleyville Blvd., died March 5, 2008 at Sentara Obici Hospital. She was a Nansemond County native born to the late Henry and Minnie Langston. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cary C. Boone.

Mrs. Boone was a faithful member of Palm Tree Baptist Church. She leaves to cherish her memory: two daughters, Glozia M. Freeman and Annie J. Boothe (William) both of Suffolk; three sisters, Annie Wiggins, Ruby Edwards and Evelyn Collins (William) all of Suffolk; one aunt, Geneva Watford of New Haven, CT; one sister-in-law, Ethel Langston of Suffolk; four grandchildren and one step grandson, Orlando Langston (Ellen) of Chesapeake; Brent Langston (Phyllis) of Suffolk, Jennifer Freeman of Raleigh, N.C.; six great grandchildren, eight step grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, March 10, 2008 at Palm Tree Baptist Church, 8165 Whaleyville Blvd, with Rev Andre Dent as the officiant. The body will be placed in the church at 12:30 p .m. Interment will be held in the Langston Family Cemetery located behind the church. Crocker funeral home is handling the arrangements.
