Roosevelt "FatMan" Williams, 59, of 5520 Towne Pt. Rd., Suffolk, passed away, December 12, 2007 at his sister’s residence. He was a native of Suffolk, Va. and the son of the late Mrs. Willie F. Williams and Walter Williams, Jr. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne Williams, four brothers, Linwood, Jasper, Cadd and William "Bill" Williams, one sister Mary Francis Eason.
He attended Florence Bowser Elementary School and later was an employee for the City of Norfolk for 30 years when he retired in 2001. He was a devoted member and guitar player for all choirs of Tabernacle Baptist Outreach Center.
He leaves to treasure his memory: five daughters, Tiffany Williams, Tessa Williams both of Chesapeake, Va.; Katrina Askew, Regina Askew and Shanette Askew all of Virginia Beach, Va.; five sisters, Cora Scott (Lonnie), Rosa Sabb, Hattie Hale (Walter), Barbara Boone and Mattie Holley (Alphonso) all of Suffolk, Va.; two brothers, James Williams, Sr. (Flossie) and Robert Williams (Linda) both of Suffolk, Va.; four grandchildren, a special friend, Sarah Askew and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 17, 2007 at Tabernacle Baptist Outreach Center, 3621 Nansemond Pkwy, Suffolk, with Rev. Nathaniel Scates, Sr., officiating. Interment will be held in Tabernacle Baptist Outreach Center, Mann Rd, Suffolk. The family will receive friends at 3600 Nansemond Pkwy. Crocker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
