SUFFOLK - Regina Wilson of 203 North Lloyd Street, Suffolk, passed away January 9, 2008 at her residence at the age of 53. She was born in Nansemond County (Suffolk) and was daughter of the late Samuel Leroy Wilson, Sr. and Barbara Frances Harrell Wilson. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Wllis L. Wilson and an aunt, Irene W. Willie.
Regina was a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School. She retired as a Transportation Employee at Newport News Shipbuilding in 1995 after 17 years of service. She was an active member of East End Baptist Church where her special ministries included Voices of Praise, the Usher Board, Women on Mission, and the nursing organizations.
She leaves a legacy of love and cherished memories to her daughter, Tonya C. Wilson of Suffolk; her son, James L. Wilson of Suffolk; sisters, Sharon W. Wilkins (Michael), Deborah E. Walker, and Antionette Scott, all of Suffolk; brother, Samuel L. Wilson, Jr. of San Jose, CA; grandchild, Alexus Regina Wilson; aunts, Roxanne Bernice Taylor, Fannie M. Scott of Suffolk, Shirley Brown, and Louise Kee (Nathan), uncle Ronald Harrell (Lisa), all of New Haven, CT; two great aunts, Julia Wilkins and Josie Wilkins of Suffolk; niece, Gwendolyn Walker of Suffolk; devoted friend and nurse, Gloria Outlaw; devoted friends, James Mizell of Hampton and Cheryl Parson of Chesapeake.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 14, 2008 at East End Baptist Church and will be conducted by Dr. Mark A. Croston, Sr. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. The family will be at 203 North Lloyd Street. Crocker Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
