SUFFOLK B Shelia Holland Lassiter, 62, of 220 North Street, Suffolk, Va; went home to be with the Lord, November 20, 2007 at Sentara Obici Hospital. She was a native of Suffolk and the daughter of Maggie Briggs Holland and the late Wilbert Holland, Sr. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilford Lassiter and her sister, Brenda Ann Holland-Sharpe.

She attended Booker T. Washington High School. She also worked for Sentara Obici Hospital and retired a year ago after 25 years of service. Mrs. Lassiter was a member of First Baptist Church, Mahan Street.

She leaves to cherish her memory: one daughter, Deborah Y. Powell (Joseph); two sons, Randell Lassiter (Victoria) and Sterling Lassiter all of Suffolk, Va.; two sisters, Ella L. Holland and Patricia Holland, both of Suffolk, Va.; one brother, Wilbur Holland, Jr.(Laverne) of Suffolk, Va.; eleven grandchildren, two uncles, James T. Holland and Junious Lee Holland, two dear friends, Christine Dildy and Janice White and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 24, 2007 at First Baptist Church, Mahan Street with the Rev. Steven Blunt, officiating. The body will be placed in church at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at her residence 220 North Street, Suffolk, Va. Crocker Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
