Suffolk - Thomas J. Edwards, 57 of 6852 Whaleyville Blvd., died Thursday, July 16, 2009 at Sentara Obici Hospital. He was a native of Nansemond County and the son of Ruby A. Edwards of Suffolk, VA and the late Melvin O. Edwards. One sister, Jacqueline Hillard and two brothers, Melvin Edwards and Leon Edwards preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Ruby A. Edwards of Suffolk, VA; two sisters, Joyce Edwards and Eloise Knight (Rodgie) both of Suffolk, VA; two brothers, Timothy Edwards (Barbara) of Franklin, VA and Glenn Edwards of Suffolk, VA; four aunts, Evelyn Collins (William C.), Annie Wiggins, Annie Edwards, and Ethel Langston; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, July 20, 2009 at Palm Tree Baptist Church; 8165 Whaleyville Blvd., Suffolk, VA officiated by Pastor Anthony Sommerville and Minister Trina Jones. Interment will be in Langston Cemetery. Crocker Funeral Home, Inc. is handling the arrangements.
