Therese W. Hicks (Ressie), 77, of 1215 Whitemarsh Rd of Suffolk, was called to her heavenly home on August 30, 2008 at Riverside Rehab Center Newport News Virginia. She was born May 8, 1931 in Suffolk, Virginia. She was the eldest daughter of the late David and Ophelia Rodgers Walker. She was predeceased by one son Andrae David Hicks Sr. one brother William D Walker Sr. an three sisters Alma and Louise Walker and Bettie Davis. She was a member of St Timothy Baptist Church were she served on the Deaconess and choir ministries.

She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband of 53 years Theodore R Hicks Sr. one daughter Cheryl A Roberts(Jonathan) of Waldorf, MD, two sons Theodore R Hicks Jr.(Renee) of Clinton, MD and Vondrae D Hicks(Angela) of Suffolk, V A. She is also survived by four sisters Dollie Frazier, Dorothy Horton(Zack), B. Lavonne Williams(Johnnie), and Sandra Warren all of Suffolk; eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren; one daughter in law Jacqueline Hicks, of Suffolk, VA and host of nieces, nephews, relative and friends.

The homegoing service will be held on Friday September 5, 2008 at 1 :OOpm at St. Timothy Baptist Church, Suffolk, by the Rev. Thomas Harden. Interment will be held at Carver Memorial Cemetery. Crocker Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Family will received visitors at 1215 Whitemarsh Road.
