Antone' Montana "Daddy" Artis

November 6, 2001 - November 10, 2022

God mercifully called his darling son Antone' Montana Artis to glory on Thursday, November 10, 2022. Antone' was born November 6, 2001 to Derrick Artis and Lindi Sexton-Boone in Norfolk, VA. He completed his education in Suffolk Public Schools where he attended Nansemond River High School. Antone' played the drums for a short time at Diamond Grove Baptist Church for the youth choir.

Antone' was fondly known as "Daddy" by many and "Dae Dae" by others. Antone' had a magnetic charm with a sense of humor to match, good hearted and always trusting in nature. His love for his family and friends was one that could not be explained and it lit up the room. His smile, full of love, will be missed the most.

Antone' was preceded in death by his grandfather, Lyndsay Octavious Sexton; great-grandmother, Celestine Cowling White and his great-great grandmother, Viola Scott Cowling.

Antone' leaves to cherish his memories his son, Bronx Westley Artis Simmons; father, Derrick Artis; mother, Lindi Sexton-Boone; sisters, Alexis Epps, Celestine Artis, Tsky Artis, Dsia Artis, Abcyde Artis; brothers, Dalonte Artis, Deshawn Artis, Damien Artis, Daimyo Artis, Kyu Artis, Dyu Artis, Dorian Artis and John Jay Artis; maternal grandmother, Tina Gosselin (Dean); paternal grandparents, Melvin Artis (Patricia); special aunts, Angela Artis (Kimberly) and Linda Newsome. Antone' further leaves to cherish his memory a special friend, KeKe and a host of relatives and friends. 

We are truly thankful for the years God has blessed us to share with Antone' and will always remember his endless love.

A public viewing will be held 2:00 - 5:00pm, Friday, November 18, 2022 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel. A celebration of life will be held 12 Noon, Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Diamond Grove Baptist Church, 6890 Crittenden Road, Suffolk, Virginia. He will be laid to rest in Oakland Cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
