James Edward Lee

James Edward Lee “Red” 68,of 100 Dover Ct. Apt# 106 Suffolk, Va transitioned on January 17, 2023 at Nansemond Pointe. Mr Lee was born on January 5, 1955 to the Late Gladys Y. Dildy and the Late William Earl Jones, Sr.

Mr Lee worked for Heilig Meyers (Thorntons) for over 20 years until the closed down, after that he work for Smithfield Foods Portsmouth, Va until he retired. Mr Lee was a die hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed watching his team play.

Besides his parents Mr Lee is preceded in death by his Grandmothers Georgie Lee and Florence Smith along with his siblings, uncles, and aunts.

Left to cherish Mr Lee’s memory is his two Daughters Lotortia Chambliss (Lawrence, Jr) of Suffolk, Va and Yvette “Alex” Parker-Lee of Georgia. His five grandchildren Jahkobe and Skyy Miller, Shanecia Parker-Lee all of Georgia, Amaiya and Christopher Chambliss of Suffolk, Va. Two brothers William E. Jones, Jr ( Jessica) of North Carolina and Robert Hamlin (Beverly). Two Aunts Lizzie Boykins (Lewis) and Michelle Simpson both of Suffolk, Va. Host of nieces, cousins, and friends.

A public viewing will be held 1:00-6:00pm, Tuesday, January 24, 2023 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held noon, January 25, 2023 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
