Paul Edward Thompson, Jr.

Paul Edward Thompson, Jr, 39, was born in Suffolk, Virginia on April 21, 1983 to Paul Edward Thompson, Sr. and Sharon Deloatch Thompson. Paul Edward Thompson, Jr. was predeceased by his grandfathers, Clifton Thompson and Percell Edwards, Sr; grandmother, Annie Bell Thompson; great-grandmothers, Lillie Bell Herring, Laura Tillery Deloatch, Johnnie Deloatch and Sarah Edwards; and a god mother, Brenda Faye Deloatch.

Paul Thompson, Jr. attended Nansemond River High School. During his career, he was employed for Applebees then he went on to advance his employment at Mac Daniel's Roofing & Siding. His present job was at Sysco of Harborview until his unexpecting death.

Paul Thompson Jr. joined Union Baptist in his younger years under the leadership of Bishop Clarence B. Russell, Sr. PJ had a smile that would light up a room. He had a passion for spending time with his family and loved the game of football. His favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys. PJ was excited to have a second chance at rebuilding his life and being a father to his son. He had many plans for the future, and was dedicated to seeing them through. He will be sorely missed.

Paul leaves to cherish his memories, his son, Dereon L. Thompson; his parents, Sharon D. Thompson & Paul E. Thompson, Sr; his sister, Klunita Thompson Starnes (Brian); nephews, Tawan D. Brown, Jr., Brycen A. Starnes; niece, Karter B. Starnes; grandmother, Ada Deloatch Elner; god mother, Shelia Deloatch; god- sister, Shemia Reid; special friend, Felicia Holland; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A public viewing will be held 3:00 - 5:00pm, Monday, January 2, 2023 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel. A celebration of life will be held 1:00pm, Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Union Baptist Missionary Church. Mr. Thompson will be laid to rest in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
