Vivian Bernice Jones Hite
January 26, 1934 - October 15, 2022
Mrs. Vivian Jones Hite departed this earthly life on Saturday October 15,2022 in South Carolina after a short illness at the home of her son and daughter-n-law.
She was born in Isle of Wight County (Smithfield) to the late Herman Mack Neal Jones and Bernice Wise Jones Mrs. Hite was a loving and faithful member of the Macedonia A.M.E. church Suffolk Virginia where she served as a member of the Pastors Aid Board.
Mrs. Hite was married to the late James C. Hite, Sr (deceased) and from that union they had four sons. James C. Hite Jr (deceased), Johnny H. Hite (Carlese) of Suffolk, Virginia, Jeffrey L. Hite (Connie) of Newport News, Va. and Robert S. Hite (Chandra) of Lancaster, South Carolina. Six grandchildren, Tonya Hardy (Kwamie) Portsmouth, VA, Joy L. Hite Jacksonville, Florida, Pleasure Lewis, (Kolley, deceased) Suffolk, Va. Demetrius Hite (Debbie) Chesapeake, VA, Katesha Green (Jay) of Georgia, and Crystal Hite of Charlotte NC. Nine great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild. One brother Herman Mack Neal Jones, Jr. (Avis) of Smithfield Va. One sister-n-law Mary Hite, of Maryland and one niece Celes Darden (James) of Maryland, nephew Brian Hite(deceased) and a host of cousins and friends.
Mrs. Hite wanted to acknowledge her former employer, The Birdsongs and her close friends who were special to her, Mrs. Eunice Wiggins, Mrs. Florence Robinson, Mrs. Shirley Clark and Mrs. Margaret Walker.
A public viewing will be held 3:00-5:00pm, Sunday, October 23, 2022 at Crocker Funeral Home, Inc. A celebration of life will be held 1:00pm, Monday, October 24, 2022 at Main Street Methodist Church, 202 N. Main Street , Suffolk, Virginia 23434. Mrs. Hite will be interred at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
