William "Big Moon" Henry Stephen, Jr.
October 13, 1951 - September 30, 2022
Our Father William H. Stephen, “Big Moon,” transitioned into the presence of God on Friday, September 30, 2022, at the age of 71. He retired from his love of driving tractor trailer trucks locally and across the country sometimes with a child or grandchild riding shotgun. He was a man of many words and would sure keep a conversation going for hours. He will be sadly missed and will always hold a special place in our hearts.
He was preceded in death by his parents William H. and Lillie Dee Stephen, his Son William “Bu” Harris, Grandson Jermaine “Foody” Warren, and a Host of Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
He leaves to cherish his memories, Nine children: Quinton (Yolunda) Harrell of Charlottesville VA, Tina Lassiter, Anthony “BA” Harris, Beatrice Boone, Mart “FatCat” (Cherelle) Harris, Dorareen “Lady” (Vic) Goodman, Terri Stroud, Krystal Stephen, Kriscena Stephen all of Suffolk VA, his brother Melvin Stephen of Suffolk VA. his wife Cocena Stephen and 7 Step children, a niece NaKisha Porter, 18 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren, a devoted friend, companion, and caregiver Mary V. Harris, and a host of cousins and friends.
A public viewing will be held 3:00-6:00pm, Monday, October 10, 2022 in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home, Inc. A graveside celebration will be held 12 Noon, Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at Carver Memorial Cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
